White Room is a modern spa and beauty treatment room in Walton Street, London. A prime location, ideal for the chic Knightsbridge crowd, it had the potential to become the destination for those who wanted to feel pampered, stress free and beautiful. The only minor problem was the store itself – a small space with an awkward layout. Our task was to make it work hard to create a sophisticated, relaxing environment.
Whilst we needed the White Room to feel opulent , we also needed to be creative on a budget, and that meant working with as much of what was there already as possible. We saw the basement as an opportunity. We worked around the listed bread ovens, introducing a leather wall at the back, separating the office space from the treatment space and creating a calm waiting area. We made the spa feel personal, introducing bespoke shelving and one-off pieces of furniture bought from the King’s Road.
Our aim had been to make the space more feminine, reducing the clinical and stark feeling it previously had and creating an environment that was high quality, high end and highly desirable. |
